Do you remember when roller skating was all the rage back in the day? Well, it has made a comeback with a new sport called roller derby. Sassy guys and gals race around a wood track and score points for their teams, all the while, dodging and or blocking elbows to the face, shoving non-team members out of the way or even body-checking their neighbors. It’s definitely not a game for the faint of heart.
Richmond’s Mother State Roller Derby team will have their first “bout” of the year, Sunday, March 8th at the Roller Dome against the DC Capitol Offenders. Tickets are $10. Doors open at 7 p.m.
