It’s that time of year again. It’s what thousands of Richmond city runners have been pounding the pavement in anticipation of for over the past couple of months- the Monument 10K. This is not just some race. Last year, over 40,000 people participated in the race alone. Everyone in the city comes out to cheer on friends, family members or coworkers while enjoying music and live bands along the designated route. There are costume contests, cash prizes and a post-race festival at Monroe Park, sponsored by Subway- cause who doesn’t need a sub after all that running?
The event starts Saturday, March 28 at 8:30 am. You can still register Saturday morning at the gate for $50. For more information, visit: http://www.sportsbackers.org/events/monument-ave-10k/
