Richmond is a very old city, full of neighborhoods that are rich with their own distinctly unique history.
The Valentine History Museum, opened in 1898, has been collecting, preserving and interpreting Richmond’s history for over a century. Located in the heart of downtown Richmond, the Valentine museum promises not only to entertain but to help it’s visitors learn about what makes this city a beautifully diverse and important gem of the South.
The museum is offering a bus tour, Saturday, March 7 of the Manchester district. It “will explore the history of the neighborhood just south of the James River that once was an independent settlement, town and then city until merging with Richmond in 1910.”
Tickets are $25. Reservations are required: call (804) 649-0711 x301.
