Every culture has it’s own traditions when it comes to holidays. One of the more beautiful and unique celebrations of Halloween is Dia De Los Muertos or the Mexican’s Day of the Dead.
The La Plaza Farmers Market is coming to the 17th Street Farmer’s Market in Shockoe Bottom, Thursday, October 30th for the 2nd annual Dia De Los Muertos festival. Enjoy traditional Mexican dishes like tamales, empanadas and tacos along with live music and performances from Aztec musicians and dancers. Learn about the traditions connected with the holiday including Ofrendas- beautiful private altars built to honor deceased family and friends.
This event is FREE. It runs 5:00-9:00 pm.
