Register for the Monument Ave. 10k!

Thursday, December 15th, 2011
Yes there's another couple weeks of holiday fun, but have you started thinking
about those New Year's resolutions yet? One great way to get yourself in shape
in 2012 is training for a race. Richmond's biggest running event takes place
on March 31, 2012. The crazy-fun time known as the Ukrop's Monument Avenue
10k Presented by Martin's, accepts the first 40,000 runners who sign up and
is one of your few chances to catch sprinters in Chewbacca, Charlie Brown,
Indiana Jones and other crazy costumes. So, even if you don't want to run,
consider walking it, or just come down to cheer on the participants, catch
some decked-out dashers and listen to the live bands that play along the route.
It's one of Richmond's most festive athletic events. There's also a kids'
run and a post-race party at the finish line.

If you do want to come to town for the event, book your stay at
the Grace Manor Inn. We're only a few blocks from all the fun.

Well, you’ve got a perfect chance to do so on Friday, December 23, at 7 p.m. when the Richmond Nativity Pageant takes place for the 80th time. Head to the Carillon in Byrd Park (it’s only a few blocks from our inn!) and watch a cast and choir of about 300 people perform. And, if you do happen to be staying at the inn and want to grab some coffee or hot chocolate on the way, we can suggest some good places for stopping.
